Searching for the perfect rental vehicle doesn't have to feel like finding a needle in a haystack. With Ride Search Filters, you can easily tailor your search to fit your exact trip needs— from daily budget caps and delivery options to pet-friendly features and specific car models.
Whether you need a quick getaway car or a specific high-end vehicle, use this guide to learn how to search, refine, and lock in the ideal Ride rental for your journey.
Navigating the Homepage Search Module
When you visit Ride, the Search Module is displayed immediately at the top of the homepage. Designed for quick and flexible discovery, this module serves as your primary starting point for finding and booking the ideal rental vehicle.
The Homepage Search Module consists of two core components:
1. The Primary Search Bar
Located at the center of the Search Module, the primary search bar allows you to establish the basic details of your trip:
- Where (Location Field): Enter your pickup location by typing an address, city, landmark, or hotel name. If left blank, Ride will default to your device's current location.
- When (Trip Dates Field): Open the interactive calendar to select your exact pickup and return dates. Clicking on the field will also display Pickup Time and Drop-off Time dropdown menus, allowing you to specify your exact schedule in 30-minute increments (from 12:00 AM to 11:30 PM).
- Search Button: Click the blue magnifying glass button to generate a list of available vehicles matching your criteria.
2. Quick Filters
Positioned directly underneath the primary search bar, Quick Filters (also known as filter pills) allow you to pre-screen available listings with a single click before or during your search:
- All: Resets your preference to show all available vehicle types within your device's detected current location.
- Same day: Filters for vehicles ready for short-notice or immediate booking.
- Delivered: Displays listings where Hosts offer direct vehicle delivery to your specified location, home, or airport.
- Cities: Highlights available vehicles located near major urban hubs and city centers.
- EV: Limits results exclusively to electric vehicles (such as Teslas with Full Self-Driving).
3. AI Search Assistance
You can also click the "Ask Ride to find your vehicle" chip next to the quick filters to describe your trip in plain language and receive personalized recommendations.
Refining Results on the Search Results Page
Once you enter your pickup location and trip dates in the primary search bar, you will be directed to the Search Results Page.
To help you find the exact vehicle for your journey, the top of the page features a toolbar of dropdown filter buttons. Selecting any of these filters will immediately update your search results in real time.
Available Search Results Filters
Price: Click to reveal a Price Range Slider alongside Min and Max Price input fields to set a specific daily budget cap.
Type: Select from core vehicle categories (Car, SUV, Truck, Minivan, and Van).
Make & Model: Enter a specific manufacturer (e.g., Tesla, Toyota, BMW) in the text input field to view listings from a preferred brand. Once you have entered a make, you can enter a model name to further refine your vehicle results.
Instant Book: Toggle this filter to display only listings that can be reserved immediately without waiting for Host approval.
Fuel: Filter listings by engine or powertrain type (Gas, Electric, or Diesel).
Seats: Narrow results by passenger seating capacity (2+, 4+, 5+, 7+, or 8+ seats).

Features: Filter for specific vehicle amenities and safety equipment, including:
Tech & Audio: Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Aux Input, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Charger, USB Input.
Safety & Assist: Backup Camera, Blind-Spot Warning, Full Self-Driving.
Comfort & Extras: Child Seat, Heated Seats, Keyless Entry, Pet Friendly, Smoking Allowed, Sunroof.
Body: Filter by specific chassis or body style (Sedan, Convertible, Coupe, SUV, Truck, or Van).
Year: Use the From and To dropdown menus to set a manufactured year range for the vehicle.
Delivery: Enter a specific drop-off address to filter listings where Hosts offer delivery within that coverage zone.
Rating: Open a 5-star selector to set the minimum rating threshold for listings displayed in your search.
Exotic: Toggle this filter to showcase high-end, luxury, and special-class vehicles tagged as Exotic.
